HOW TO MAKE YOUR EYES LOOK LARGER

70 percent of men say that the first thing they notice in a woman are her eyes. And us women notice men's eyes first too. If you're not blessed with thick, dark lashes and a wide-awake look, don't fret! Oriflame Artistic Director, Jonas Wramell has five essential tips for creating the illusion of larger-looking eyes.
TRICK #1 EYE PENCIL
Rim your upper and lower waterline with a white or beige eye pencil, which will instantly make your eyes look whiter and bigger. People tend to only apply eyeliner to their lower waterline, but that means you’ll blink the colour away! This trick is quick, easy and very effective.

TRICK #2 HIGHLIGHTER
Dab a white, light-reflecting highlighter in the inner corners of your eyes. The rule is: anything that’s dark will intensify your eyes but make them look smaller, and anything that’s light will make the eyes look larger and more awake.

TRICK #3 BUILDING DEPTH
Building depth will maximise the size of your eyes – it’s a trick that Angelina Jolie uses a lot. Apply a vanilla coloured eye shadow to your whole, lid and up to your brows. Then use a large eye shadow brush to apply a dark colour to the outer corner of your eye, working the colour into the crease. Use a liquid or soft pencil eyeliner to draw a line from the centre of your iris fading to the outer corner of your eye. Don’t apply to the inner corner of your eyes if you want that “pop” effect. And finally, leave your lower lash line bare. Dark shadows beneath your eyes create an intense look rather than doll eyes, so focus the attention above rather than below.

TRICK #4 CURL CURL CURL
Curl your lashes for just 20 seconds and you’ll immediately have wider-looking eyes.
The magic trick is to curl your lases in sections, rather than all at once. Start by the roots – CURL - move your way up to the middle – CURL - and then finish at the end of your eye lashes - CURL. This way you’ll have doll-like lashes, rather than a crease in the centre of your lashes. For extra impact, take your eyelash curler  and curl one final time at your roots, tilting your curler upwards (yes, get close your eye ball!) – and oomph!

TRICK # 5 MASCARA
Use a volumising mascara instead of a lengthening one. And apply it in thee steps: start at the inner corner of your eye, then apply to the middle (pushing upwards) and lastly at the outer corner. Here, you’ll want to angle your mascara brush sideways and drag away from your face.
This technique will create a fan like effect, giving the illusion of fuller lashes and larger eyes. For a video on how to make your eyes appear larger, click here.

GET EMPOWERED FOR YOUR DREAMS

Oriflame is built on dreams, and one of our main goals is to inspire women across the world to be strong and independent. Hanna Einarsson, Country Manager for Nigeria, is just that. So, we sat down with her to see what motivates and empowers her on a daily basis.
1. YOU’RE ORIGINALLY SWEDISH. SO, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING IN NIGERIA?
I have been living in Nigeria for over 7 years now. How time flies!
2. WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT LIVING THERE?
I really love the people, the warmth and happiness here. Nigerians are super-entrepreneurs and for me this is very inspiring! I love being in an environment where people are eager to grow and are pushing for greatness.
3. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORK AT ORIFLAME?
My work at Oriflame is very varied - no day looks the same. The work is very social and I get to meet our amazing leaders every day.
On a regular day I get to the office quite early. I’m a morning person and feel I get a head start if I have my first coffee in the office. I guess it has to do with me being very competitive. Then I usually dedicate my mornings for admin work and emails.
Our leaders start to arrive to the office just before lunch, so I walk around to greet people and talk to my team about how their day is going. For me it’s important that visitors to our office and service center instantly feels welcome.
We also have a number of trainings in the office every day. So, a lot of my time goes into planning for the future and to strengthen our leader plans to fit the market.
4. WHAT GIVES YOU STRENGHT EVERY DAY?
Easy! Our people! Our great Oriflame Nigeria leaders and the staff in the office. It gives me strength to see the change people are making every day with Oriflame. We are trying to create a culture where people are feeling involved and empowered by their everyday contribution to Oriflame Nigeria. Nigerians on average have a very high and contagious energy that I love. Just seeing how people are running their businesses and trying to make their life better give a lot of energy, I am impressed by the power people have!
5. YOU WERE RECENTLY INAUGURATED AS A SWEDISH HONORARY CONSUL IN LAGOS. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU, PERSONALLY?
I’m Swedish by birth, but for the past 10 years I have lived abroad. Still, I have a strong connection to Sweden, and think that we have a lot of good values and culture that is worth sharing. I believe that by being part of the Swedish official representation in Nigeria, I can help do this. I also feel that Sweden can learn a lot from Nigeria, so I also see it as my mission to share the greatness of Nigeria when I visit Sweden.
6. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN WHO WISH TO BE INDEPENDENT IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL LIFE?
To be independent in your business life, you need to know your stuff! Strive for perfection and to be the best at what you are doing. I have met many women who is top of their game and really great, but sometime the confidence is lacking. Practice makes perfect. Push yourself to go outside your comfort zone - this is where you grow! Even in your personal life strive to learn new things and to constantly be better than you were last year.
7. HAS NIGERIAN WOMEN’S PERCEPTION TOWARDS THEIR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CHANGED DURING THE LAST 7 YEARS?
Nigerian women have always been very strong and independent! However, I think there is a new generation of Nigerian women entering the professional sphere carrying a confidence that I really love. Some of our fastest growing leaders right now are young women, this is of course very exciting to see. I am sure that Nigeria will continue to have strong female (and male) leaders growing long term in Oriflame Nigeria.

HOW I LEFT LAW TO MAKE MILLIONS WITH ORIFLAME

2017 is a special year for Oriflame. We’re celebrating our 50th anniversary, and keep fulfilling dreams for millions of people. One of those people is Bar Abiola Akande, our most recent Diamond Director. This is her story!
1. TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, AND HOW YOU JOINED ORIFLAME?
My name is Bar Abiola Akande, I am a lawyer by profession, and an entrepreneur and a lifestyle coach by choice.
I joined Oriflame in 2014. A friend of mine came to my house with the catalogue and introduced it to me. At first, I wasn't interested in doing business with the company, as in the past I had joined several MLM companies and unfortunately lost my money.
So, I only signed up with Oriflame to buy the products for personal use. Because I love to look great and the high quality of the products caught my attention.
But then I went to Oriflame's office for the first time. Nobody advised me to start a business, it was the success plan hanging in the office, that caught my eye. The fact that Oriflame is here in Nigeria, to help me fulfill my dreams of looking great, making money and having fun by traveling the world, made me say Yes immediately.
2. WHAT ARE THE MAIN PRINCIPLES YOU WORK BY?
1. Strategies: I plan my work very carefully and strategically. I set clear goals and build a plan for how to reach them.
2. Determination, focus and passion for success: I decided that I am destined for success. I give my best to Oriflame, because it can give me financial freedom and the lifestyle I always wanted.
3. Team: You can go alone, but if you go together you and your team can achieve way more.
3. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO SUCCEED?
I look out for people that are hungry and passionate for triumphs. I work closely with them and am always available to assist them 24/7. The success of my team members, is my success. I also organize seminars and trainings, and teach them soft and hard skills.
4. WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUTURE?
I see myself as a Diamond President Director within the next five years - a successful Leader raising even more diamonds.
