Soaring To Success

Soaring to Success!

It’s impossible not to be charmed by Enna. This petite 28-year-old from Bali, Indonesia, is ultra-stylish, chatty and radiates passion; it’s no wonder she’s been so successful. Three years after joining Oriflame, she’s travelled back-and-forth to Europe and built an impressive beauty business – all while maintaining a successful career as a flight attendant. We spoke to Enna to find out how she does it!

As well as working with Oriflame, you’re also a flight attendant – when did you start?
I started working for a local Indonesian airline in 2008 when I was only 18-years-old – it was my childhood ambition! In 2011 I joined the airline Air Asia and requested to be based in Bali so I could be near my family – being close to family is the best thing in life!

You must travel a lot - what’s been your favourite trip ever?
My favourite trip was when I went to London for the Gold Conference in 2015; it was only five months after my wedding so it felt like a free honeymoon sponsored by Oriflame! I really enjoyed being in London, and I’m still amazed by how Oriflame manages to create such a fantastic, VIP experience.

“It’s an easy way to start a business without needing much money to begin with...”

What does a typical Oriflame conference look like?
Everything Oriflame says about their conferences is true! Whether it’s Gold or Diamond, it’s like a dream conference because Oriflame chooses the most desirable destinations that many people haven’t been to; for example, for us Indonesians, going to London isn’t easy. Even if you have a lot of money, it’s still difficult to get a visa. But with Oriflame, when I went to Jakarta to apply for my visa, all I had to do was say one word: “Oriflame,” and they said “OK!” It was so easy.

Oriflame arranged everything for us. In the Master class sessions, we learned how to grow our business, faster and better. And in the Recognition Awards and Gala Dinners, we received motivation and inspiration from those leaders who began their businesses from nothing and are now successful. I’ve honestly learned from so many people from around the world!

How did you discover Oriflame? Was it the idea of travel that first drew you in?
My husband is the best of friends with Niek Made Sugiarti and Nyoman Suryananta (who are in the Top 15 in Indonesia). When I met Ni, I remember her saying to me, “You love makeup; have you heard of Oriflame?” I hadn’t.

She told me how with Oriflame you could travel the world and even visit Europe twice a year. I said to my husband: “I’m going to take this opportunity – if she can, then so can I!” Five months after I joined, I became a Senior Manager; within the first year, I received three new titles.

And in less than three years you’re now at Diamond Director level!
It’s because of all of the support that Oriflame has given me; it’s an easy way to start a business without needing much money to begin with. As long as you want to learn, you can do it!

Do you use social media and online tools to reach new customers?
Because I work as a flight attendant, I run 80% of my business online and spend the rest of my time offline, connecting through beauty classes, meeting with my team and distributing flyers; I do all of this on my time off.

And are you excited about the 50th Anniversary Cruise?
Yes, it sounds like a dream! I hope to take lots of my team with me – my goal is 50! In Copenhagen, I will take 18 members of my team with me – that’s the best part!

Wow, 50 people! Do you feel like you’ve helped others to change their lives?
No, but I do feel that Oriflame has changed my life and my dreams. Instead of serving people for the rest of my life, Oriflame has taught me that I deserve better – that I can earn money without being away from my family. Oriflame has done so many wonderful things for my life!

Meet The man who makes Millions on Beauty products

          The Business(man) of Beauty

If you thought that running a beauty business was a woman’s game, Simeon Saidi is set to prove you wrong. With a keen eye for business, and a commitment to developing others, Simeon is proof that hard work and passion can make dreams come true.

You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering; how did you make the transition to Oriflame?
In Nigeria, you tend to choose your university subject based on what your family expects of you, for example: a doctor, a lawyer or an engineer. Although I studied engineering, I wasn’t really cut out for it. I’m very outgoing, like meeting new people and taking part in new things. Starting my business with Oriflame, I felt like a fish in water – it’s instinctual and comes naturally to me.

How did you first discover Oriflame?
It’s a very exciting story! A friend of mine invited me to his office and showed me a catalogue; I loved the packaging and the razzmatazz of it. He talked me through the compensation plan and it blew my mind; that’s when he introduced me to the Managing Director at Oriflame in Nigeria and he asked me a simple question: “How much money do you want to make and how far do you want to go?” My dream, from day one, was to get to the top.
“With Oriflame, I feel like a fish in water – it’s instinctive and comes naturally to me...”

As a man, is it a challenge to sell beauty products?
Personally, when reaching out to people, I prefer to focus on the compensation plan rather than the products. The Nigerian economy isn’t doing very well; our oil prices are down and the exchange rate is high versus the (American) dollar; I find that the business aspect is very attractive to people.

How do you reach out to people?
During my first year with Oriflame, I focused on meeting people face-to-face rather than through social media – I did have a Facebook account but I barely used it. Nowadays I’m more online than offline. I use Google and Facebook advertising to capture people’s attention, but then I invite people into the office to see the product range and find out about the business in person – that’s when people get really excited.

What’s your best piece of business advice?
The rejection rate can be high, so I always tell people that you need to bill more and increase your recruitment rate. You may receive a lot of rejections at first, but these rejections will only make you stronger. It’s all about building a team and supporting others, so my advice would be to try and see the bigger picture. Think less about sales and immediate profit and focus more on building a business through recruitment.

In just little over a year you’ve reached Diamond Director status – what’s been your highlight? What are you most proud of?
Without a doubt, the Gold Conference in Valencia, Spain - I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life. The icing on the cake was the recognition part, when I was called up to receive the Diamond Award; there were even fireworks! It honestly was mind-blowing. I’d like to relive that experience again and again.

How would you describe an Oriflame conference to someone?
I’d tell them that it’s five-star treatment, all the way through. You get treated like royalty, from start to finish. When people heard that I was a Diamond Director they wanted to take pictures of me and get my autograph; I felt like a star! Trust me, once you’ve attended your first conference you’ll want to go to the next one and the one after that!

You brought someone you selected from your network to the Diamond Conference – how did it feel to give him that opportunity?
The moment that I was informed that I had an extra ticket for the Diamond Conference, I ran a competition within my team. A young guy who had worked really hard qualified to come – and wow, did he ever make the most of his trip! He’s inspired a lot of people back home; that felt really nice.

In 5 years from now, where do you hope to be?
Number one in the world - Diamond President Director!

Find the Best Coloured Makeup for your Skin Tone

By now you’ve probably worked out what your skin tone is, but that doesn’t mean you know what makeup to pair with it. Follow our definitive colour guide to getting it right every time.
You have: FAIR SKIN
Blonde or red hair, pale skin that burns easily and freckles, blue or green eyes.
Wear: Concealer with blue undertones to diffuse dark, under-eye circles. Soft pink or coral blushes that give the appearance of flushed cheeks. Earthy, beige tones for eyes and brown eye liner and mascara. Lipsticks with peach undertones.
Avoid: Heavy bronzers that can make you look orange, or very pale or frosted colours that can wash you out and make skin appear sallow.

Your must-have: The ONE IlluSkin Blush

You have: MEDIUM-FAIR SKIN
Blond or brown hair, skin that tans golden and occasionally burns, dark eyebrows and lashes.
Wear: Look for a blush with apricot tones to warm cheeks. Highlight eyes with gold and jewel tones like emerald, royal blue and plum. Choose basic nude lipsticks in taupe, or brighten lips with rose and soft reds.
Avoid: Using silver to highlight, (choose gold instead) as it can make skin appear ashen.

Your must-have:  The ONE Colour Impact Cream Eye Shadow in Rose Gold
You have: YELLOW-ASIAN SKIN
Black or dark brown hair, skin with yellow undertones, dark, almond-shaped eyes.
Wear: Nude blushes to contour and lift facial features, without creating any stark lines. Open-up monolids with champagne-coloured highlighters at the brow bone and inner-corners, and a palette of chocolate browns for definition - a jet-black volumising mascara is a must. Deep berry colours will make lips pop.
Avoid: Heavy black makeup that can make eyes appear smaller.

Your must have:  The ONE Volume Blast Mascara

You have: OLIVE SKIN
Black or dark brown hair, skin with green undertones that’s naturally tanned and rarely burns, brown eyes.
Wear: Blushes with mauve and rose-coloured undertones to balance green undertones. Aubergine, cobalt blue, copper and gold to highlight brown eyes. Cherry, brown rose, berry and wine tones on your lips.
Avoid: Orange-toned bronzers that can look clownish – embrace your natural glow!

Your must have:The One Colour Unlimited Lipstick

You have: MEDIUM DEEP SKIN
Black hair, dark skin with warm undertones, dark eyes and features.
Wear: Both your cheeks and lips will look radiant in nude pinks, soft browns and corals, but for a high-impact look try a lipstick in dark plum or wine red. For highlighting dark eyes, choose teal, rose gold and saffron shades.
Avoid: Neon colours

Your must have:The ONE Colour Impact Cream Eye Shadow in Rose Gold

You have: EBONY SKIN
Jet black hair and deep, dark skin that never visibly burns, almost black eyes.
Wear: Cranberry, orange or fuchsia blushes make ebony skin tones “pop!” For a neutral lip, chocolate shades work best, or trial a red, purple or glossy pink lipsticks. Gold, bronze tones or jewel-tones look radiant on eyes, as do flashes of aquamarine.
Avoid: White eye shadows that can make skin appear ashy.

Your must have: Giordani Gold Jewel Lipstick in Warm Coral

How Oriflame Made Me Rich And Well Travelled

Her Journey to the Top

If seven years ago, you’d told Diana Sachirciuc that she’d hold the highest Oriflame title in Moldova, have taken over 60 flights to 20 different countries, and be married and a mother of two, she wouldn’t have believed you. At 28 she’s on a role - get ready to feel inspired!

You joined Oriflame at 22, what inspired you to start your own beauty business?
The opportunity to build a business has always inspired me. I wanted to reach my full potential and dreamt of having something that depended solely on me; it’s a very precious feeling that I wasn’t able to find working for someone else.

Have you always loved beauty products?
Yes, I’ve always loved makeup and looking my best. Oriflame helped me make another one of my dreams come true: buying as much makeup as I want!

At 28, and in just six years, you’ve reached the highest title in Moldova! What’s your secret to success?
Yes it’s true! I was only 27-years-old when I became a Senior Diamond Director. In my opinion, the secret to success is having a positive attitude, the right priorities, and an acute sense of responsibility; I know that my success depends on me, and me only – it’s important to remember that.

Since joining Oriflame, you’ve travelled all over the world; where’s been you favourite destination?
In the short time that I’ve been with Oriflame, I’ve visited almost 20 countries! The most memorable was my first trip to Thailand in 2013 – it had a major impact on my life.

“I have the freedom to prioritise my time and organise my work however I want to”

Had you travelled much before joining Oriflame?
Prior to joining Oriflame I’d never travelled much, and I’d never taken an aeroplane before; now, in just four years, I’ve taken almost 62 flights! I’ve been to the Gold, Manager and Diamond Conferences, and been invited to speak at other events too.

Wow, you travel a lot now!
Not so long ago, when I made a collage of my hopes and dreams, I wrote down that I wanted to travel four times in one year - over the least year, I’ve taken six trips with Oriflame. This kind of travel is much more than a holiday or a work trip, it’s a new way of life; a life that’s very inspiring, and one that I’m willing to work hard for!

What’s the best thing about attending an Oriflame conference?
I can’t choose a favourite! Travelling with Oriflame is a whole new level of travel: I remember eating at the Emirates Palace, a luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi surrounded by my best friends – it was an incredible experience that on my own, I could never have afforded.

Where would be your dream destination?
My dream destination is Rio de Janeiro. When I first started with Oriflame the Diamond Conference was held in Rio – that’s probably what motivated me to reach the Diamond Director title! I dream of going there, and to Tokyo and to Antarctica – but there are so many other places that I’d love to visit too!

Do you use the internet to sell and recruit into your network? If so, how?
I don’t use the internet to recruit, but I use it for many other things. My generation doesn’t think online or offline – to us, it’s just communication. I use the internet for business, to maintain relationships, and to promote the lifestyle that Oriflame offers – it would be far harder without it!

You have a son and now a daughter – how do you juggle running your business and being a mother?
In the time I’ve been with Oriflame, I’ve gotten married, given birth to my first son, and just three weeks ago, a daughter. I’ve always been inspired by successful, powerful women who also spend a lot of time raising their families – in this sense, Oriflame has helped me make my dream come true: I have the freedom to prioritise my time and organise my work however I want to. So how do I juggle it all? As harmoniously as I can.

For Perfume Lovers: Right Notes For Right Occassions

Summer Scents

With temperatures rising, it’s time to lighten up our fragrance wardrobe. I round up the 4 biggest scent trends, for a truly unforgettable summer.
1. Summer Blooms
Good for:
Relaxed garden parties
Whilst the winter is perfect for seductive florals like ylang ylang and red jasmine, I like to switch to a more delicate bouquet when the weather heats up. Trend reports have confirmed that this summer is all about the freesia flower – a note that’s at once delicate and peppery. Or stay on point with blossom-themed perfumes – they’re ideal for pairing with a sundress!
Look for: freesia, orange blossom, cherry blossom, peony, white lilac
Shop this: Giordani Gold Eau de Parfum
Tip! Your hair holds scent particularly well, so spritz onto your comb and apply by brushing.

2. So Fresh, So Clean
Good for:
Summer in the city
Commonly used as a base note, musk anchors a fragrance, boosts other notes and binds to the skin to make your fragrance last longer. Musk-themed fragrances differ a lot, but to me, it’s the first spritz of my white musk-based eau de toilette that marks the start of spring! With its fresh-out-of-the-laundry scent, it’s a classic “clean” perfume.
Look for: white musk
Shop this: Voyager Woman Eau de Toilette
Tip! Store your perfume in a cool, dry place to avoid it spoiling.

3. Sorbet Scents
Good for:
Dancing the night away
One of the biggest summer scent trends according to the Seven Scents’ forecast report is sorbet – think sweet, good-enough-to-eat aromas. It’s time to put-away heavy perfumes and look for something lighter. Fresh, fruity scents are always uplifting, particularly when sprinkled with floral notes – like a summer holiday bottled.
Look for: strawberry, watermelon, raspberry, pink grapefruit, peach and lemon
Shop this: Voyager Woman Eau de Toilette
Tip! Apply your scent straight after a shower, before getting dressed to make it last longer. Scent clings better to well-hydrated skin.

4. Ocean Breezes
Good for:
Beach days
Perfumers are capturing the smell of a sea breeze and bottling it up for summer. Look for salty oceanic notes paired with florals – they offer an unexpected twist on your typical flowery fragrance.
Tip! Over 1000 new perfumes are launched every year – take your time when selecting yours.

Interview with Face of Oriflame Onyinye Obiora-Okoye

Again Oriflame is looking for Face of Nigeria.
Today Onyinye Obiora-Okoye shares with us her experience as a Face of Nigeria. Read our interview with Onyinye and discover her tips to success!

WHAT DID IT MEAN FOR YOU TO BE THE FACE OF ORIFLAME NIGERIA?
I joined Oriflame to “LOOK GOOD”, “MAKE MONEY” and “HAVE FUN” but discovered thereafter that it also offered a huge platform for a wide spectrum of other opportunities. Being the Face of Oriflame Nigeria meant that besides looking good, making money and having fun with Oriflame, I also had the awesome privilege of being identified with an exquisite International brand. This therefore meant that my face and identity would invariably give credence and endorsement to my voice and opinions on the immense business opportunities in Oriflame.

WHAT PERSONAL IMPACT DID THE TITLE FACE OF ORIFLAME NIGERIA HAVE ON YOU?
I have won a number of titles, awards, crowns, pageants, cars, gifts and so on in the past decade but none of these accolades have had as much of a personal impact on my life as the title “Face of Oriflame Nigeria”. It gave me a whole new persona of confidence and acceptability that was worth much more than everything else I had ever won in my very successful modelling career. The title Face of Oriflame Nigeria gave me chance of personally meeting, interacting and relating with some of the most wonderful people on this planet and this has had a most tremendous personal impact on my life and career.

WHAT MADE YOU TAKE PART IN THE COMPETITION?
I must confess that I really love competitions and over the years I have learnt that a healthy spirit of competition (and a consistent practice of the same) is an excellent motivation for continuous improvement and advancement in life. The truth in life is that everyone competes in one way or another every day without even consciously knowing that we are in competition. However, whenever a formal platform arises for specific competitions a lot of people back out. I took part in the competition because I had the chance to participate and this is one unique thing about Oriflame. Everyone gets the chance to be part of everything that is done in Oriflame and anyone can win anything in oriflame.

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU GIVE THE NEXT FACE OF ORIFLAME NIGERIA?
I have “trailer load” of tips for the next face of Oriflame Nigeria and I pray that she would do even better. I will still be here by God’s grace to give her all the support and advice that she would need to succeed. Without mincing words, a very useful tip to the next face of Oriflame Nigeria that I would love to briefly talk about is the need to work as a TEAM…because
Together
Each
Achieves
More
As the face of Oriflame Nigeria you must understand that you are part of a larger Oriflame family of consultants and in Oriflame we work together to build and achieve successful business platforms.

HOW HAS, BEING THE FACE OF ORIFLAME NIGERIA, HELPED YOU GROW YOUR BUSINESS/DEVELOP YOUR NETWORK?
I had been in Oriflame for just a few months when I became the face of Oriflame Nigeria and my business network was still relatively small. I have however moved up very significantly in developing my business network with the opportunity. It is an awesome privilege to have your face on the catalogue and online. People who would never have joined the business get to join through you and this helps you build your network. A lot of people who already know you and even people you do not know would also want to join the business for the same reasons. This portends huge business opportunities that help you grow your business/develop your network.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ORIFLAME PRODUCT?
My favourite Oriflame product is the
“Divine Eau de Toilette” (Product code: - 11355). It celebrates the ultimate woman with light, natural notes of bamboo, violet petals and ivy. An enchanting six-petal orchid heart blooms before descending into a sensual harmony of white musk and sandalwood. 50ml. It’s elegant poise, charisma and sophistication, bathes you with and enchanting mythical presence and simply makes you the embodiment of true feminity…

There you have it from Onyinye herself.. empower yourself people go out there and be great do not wait for government or whatever..
